Dear Sir,
The Egyptian working group of
Interventional Cardiology (EWGIC),
a sub-division of the Egyptian Society of Cardiology will be
holding its 8th Annual meeting on October 22-24, 2003. The meeting
will be hosted by Cairo University. The meeting program features
live case demonstrations, practical workshops, panel discussions,
and case-review sessions. The spectrum of discussions will include
state of the art concepts and techniques of PCI, peripheral
vascular interventions, carotid stenting, the use of IVUS,
management of valvular heart diseases, and interventions for
congenital heart defects.

The meeting will also
include poster sessions moderated by experts in the
field. Abstract forms for poster presentations should be
mailed to the organizing committee before
August 1, 2003
They can be sent through electronic mail in MS-word
format or directly submitted online through the abstract
submission form available on www.heartj.com. Abstracts
should not exceed 400 words in addition to one table or
one figure to be enclosed in the official abstract form.
Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified before
September 1st 2003. The final poster size should be 180
× 90 cm (width X height). The best three posters will be
awarded valuable prizes. Accepted abstracts will be
published in the meeting abstract booklet.

The organizing committee
will accept interesting cases showing difficult
problems, educational experience, model presentations or
new methods and techniques in the field of PCI,
peripheral vascular disease and carotid stenting.
Material for presentation should include:
* Title of the case
* Brief clinical data
* CD (DICOM format) of the
procedure.
The dead line for acceptance of presentations is
August 1, 2003
All cases will be reviewed and the first 20 cases
received will be the subject of presentation and
discussion with the international experts during the
meeting. Preferred topics for presentations include:
* Bifurcation lesions.
* Management of
complications.
* Multivascular procedures;
combined coronary and peripheral, or coronary and
carotid
procedures.
* Cases representing
difficulty in decision making. |
