     1- Give a short account on the management of the following:

        A- Recent onset AF.

                                                                            (20 marks)

       B- Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction.    

                                               (20marks)

 

     2- Discuss causes, prognosis and management of:

        A- Isolated systolic hypertension.                                                           

(15marks)

        B- Mitral valve prolapse.                                                                          

(15 marks)

 

     3- Discuss the investigations needed for the following: 

       A- Recurrent deep venous thrombosis.          

                                          (15marks)

         B- Dilated ascending aorta on chest X-ray.

      1- A 14 years old boy was seen in acute pulmonary edema. He had a history of rheumatic fever at the last 3 years with mild mitral valve incompetence. On examination, the pulse was irregular of 136 bpm., BP 90/70 mmHg and temperature of 38 C. On cardiac examination ; the apex was forceful with apical systolic murmur of grade 2/4. Chest auscultation; bilateral basal crepitations to the angle of the scapulae.

 A- What is the possible causes of deterioration of his condition? 

      (15 marks)

 B- Discuss the management of this case. 

                                          (15 marks)

     2- Give a short account on the following:

  A- In-stent restenosis.

(15 marks)

  B- Causes of acute pericarditis.  

(15 marks)

      3- Discuss the following:

  A- Management of dilated cardiomyopathy with refractory heart failure.

(20 marks)

  B- Differential diagnosis of a continuous murmur over the chest in a 3 years old
     child.
