1) Give an account on the diagnosis, differential diagnosis and management of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction.

2) Discuss how you would reach a diagnosis in each of the following:
    a- A patient with acute shortness of breath and central cyanosis.
    b- A 50 year old lady with profound bradycardia.

3) Give a short account on:
    a- Modified Jone’s criteria for the diagnosis of rheumatic fever.
    b- Complications of infective endocarditis.
    c- Causes of arterio-venous fistulae.
    d- Secondary causes of systemic hypertension.

1) Discuss the different therapeutic strategies that may be taken to reduce infarct size and hence preserve left ventricular function in patients early after acute MI.

2) Described the heamodynamic changes that occur in:
    a- Normal pregnancy.
    b- Constructive pericarditis.
    c- Pulmonary embolism.
    d- Acute mitral incompetence.
Illustrate with diagrams where possible.

3) A 6 year old hypertensive man was gripped with a severe attack of chest pain, mainly referred to the back. On arrival at the ER of a nearby hospital 15 minutes later, HE was found to be in agony and irritable. BP in the right arm was 160/110 mmHg, left arm 120/80 mmHg with a weaker pulse of 100/minute and regular. ECG showed no abnormalities except for sinus tachycardia.
    a- What would you do further to reach a diagnosis?
    b- How would you treat this patient?
